When you protect a directory with a password, all directories beneath it are automatically protected as well.
To add password protection to a directory, follow these steps:
1. Log in to cPanel.
2. In the FILES section of the cPanel
3. Click Directory Privacy
4. Click the name of the directory you wish to protect.
5. Click Edit.
6. Under Security Settings, select the Password protect this directory check box.
7. In the Enter a name for the protected directory text box, type a name for the protected directory.
8. Click .
9. Under Create User, enter username and password.
10. Alternately you can click generate a random, strong password.
Click . cPanel adds password protection to the directory.
You can add multiple users to a password-protected directory.
