In cPanel File Manager you can set who can read, write and execute a particular file. You may need to change file permissions for installations or security reasons.
To change file permission in cPanel:
1. Log in to your cPanel account.
2. Go to FILES section.
3. Click on File manager.
4. Select the file(s).
5. Click on Permissions in the top menu.
6. Select the desired file permission in the Change Permission window.
7. Click on Change Permissions.
